Hairspray: Trailer/Poster Analysis.

Hairspray:

1. The title of the film is placed at the end of the trailer, it's placed at the end (Like Transfromers) to make people carry on watching to find out the title.

2. The cast names are given towards the end, the names are given with a clip of their face afterwards, it makes their characters visual appearance familiar to the viewer, it also makes the actor/actresses familiar, as some of them are recognizable.

3. In this trailer we are not shown action, but instead we are given clips are people dancing, singing and characters having fun, it shows what genre and type of film this is, which is a musical, it creates a fun and entertaining atmosphere and appeals to people who like signing and having fun.

4. The music for the trailer is a song from the soundtrack of the film, it gives you glimpses of what the film sounds like and what sort of songs they have, it shows the musical talent of the actors and actresses included.  It makes the trailer seem more of a performance has it shows stages and people performing form others.

5. In the trailer there is a voice-over, it's placed at the beginning to introduce the main character and story, and again placed in the middle (same reasons), it appeals more the young teenagers and adults, which will be mostly females, has it's narrative, interesting, fun and has a romantic story involved.

6. The speed of the trailer goes at an easy to view pace, it makes the clip used have more time on screen and the characters to become more appealing to the viewer, it makes people start to understand the film and what exactly the story is going to be about, it also makes people focus more on the entertainment of the movie.

7.  In the last frame of the trailer we are given the month release date and the actors/production team who made and were in the movie.

8. Both trailer and poster are good because they both include fun, jazzy colours which go with the musical theme of the film, the colours make the film look energetic and full of fun and wit, it appeals to female audience kids/teenagers to adults. The poster just includes cast names and pictures of the characters they are portraying and the trailer includes the songs and dancing which creates a boost of energy and intrigues us has the viewer.
